pesto twists

pesto sticks with prosciuttofor my birthday i had my girls over for a chilled night. of course we couldn’t go without some delicious things to eat so i made i small buffet with a variety of things. finally i could try all those ideas and recipes i had in my head. it was awesome and the result was scrumptous.

these pesto twists/sticks are super easy and can easily be adapted to suit vegetariens – just don’t use the ham. they will be the hit at your next party. people can just nibble on them all night long. if you have the time and motivation, you can make your own pizza dough. since i had so many others things to do as well i used fresh store bought dough and also bought pesto. of course you can fill these sticks with whatever you like: use different kind of pestos, fill with cheese and sundried tomatoes, use different kinds of ham, etc. usw.

ingredients (30 sticks)

  • 2 packages pizza dough (each 550 g e.g. from tante fanny)
  • 1 glass green pesto (or home made about 100 g)
  • 30 slices prosciutto

pre-heat oven to 200°. unroll pizza dough with attached baking paper on a work surface. spread half of the pesto on the lower half of the dough. flip rest of dough on top. cut into 15 strips. fold 15 slices of ham lengthwise in half on lay on the strips.

with your fingers grasp a strip on the top and the bottom, twist and slightly pull longer. gently squeeze the ends together. do same thing with other dough.

with the baking paper put on a baking try and bake in hot oven for 10 minutes. when cooled down place twists in high glasses or cups.
